Mayor’s comment about Return of Sakibe Navy Auxiary Facilities (Sakibe East Area).

Japanese state had notice of the returned effect from the USA side about "Sakibe Navy Auxiliary Facilities" through Nagasaki-prefecture from Defense Ministry today.

 

Since it has been just requested about effective use of Sakibe area by Japan Self-Defense Forces to a country from this city and a city council about this matter, and being concerned with return's being achieved this time, I'm glad truly as a mayor.

 

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the country, the prefecture authority and a city council and the persons concerned who have supported us up to now.

 

I'll plan for the cooperation and the support as much as possible as a local government so that  maintenance of the facilities of Japan Self-Defense Forces in Sakibe area may advance smoothly from now on.

 

Return date: January 25, 2021.

Cabinet decision was made on February 26, 2021.

 

The report was concluded that this case assets have jurisdiction in Defense Ministry from Ministry of the Treasury in an old naval base city national asset processing council on February 10, 2021..
