The parks with a splendid view of Kujukushima
Nagushiyama Park

It’s famous for 100,000 azaleas (Kurume tsutsuji and Hirado tsutsuji) . The view from mountain top (234m) is splendid. |
Yumihari Park

It’s an observatory which dominates the whole landscape of the port of Sasebo and South Kujukushima. You can enjoy the night view of the downtown as well as the beautiful sunset. |
Marude Old Observatory

You can enjoy the whole view of the south Kujukushima from the ruin of an old steel observatory and a brick basement. They are relics at the time of WWII. This view of Kujukushima is quite different from that from Ishidake Observatory because it’s much nearer the seaside. |
Hiyamizu-dake Park

Kozaki-bana Park (Westernmost point of Mainland Japan)

Located near the sea shore is the park where you can enjoy the view of not only Kujukushma but also Goto islands. The sunset in the horizon seen from the observatory is magnificent. Kozaki-bana park is the westernmost point in the mainland Japan, situated in the Saikai national park. It is one of the four extreme points: Cape Soya in Wakkanai, Hokkaido (northernmost point), Cape Nosappu in Nemuro, Hokkaido(easternmost point), Cape Sata in Minami-Osumi cho, Kagoshima prefecture (southernmost point) and Kozaki-bana in Sasebo (westernmost point). |
Ishidake Observatory

The view of Kujukushima from Ishidake was used for the film “Last Samurai” because of its beautiful landscape. There you can enjoy 360-degree view and that of the port of Sasebo. |
Udogoe Park

In the middle of Mt. Yumihari, it has been known to residents since Taisho period (early 20th century). It dominates Kujukushima Pearl Sea Resort. |
Takashima Bandake Park

It is in Takashima island, one of Kujukushima islands. There you can enjoy the close view of Hirado and Goto islands. In addition, you can enjoy the view of the sunrise glow of Kujukushima. |
